Coach Kenny Gregory- Team Intensity, Founder- National 16U Head Coach
Kenny Gregory was born and raised in New York City, a few blocks away from the well-known Rucker Park. His love of basketball came early as he played 11U and 12U basketball for one of the most winning AAU programs in the country, the Riverside Hawks. He also played CYO middle school and HS basketball for Corpus Christi(NY) and St Francis Xavier(NY), where he played against NBA players such as Ron Artest, God Shammgod and Felipe Lopez, who spent time on the Wizards.
Kenny Gregory not only played HS basketball, but ran track, played football, and was on his nationally ranked high school rugby team. Although he wanted to play college basketball, he was offered a scholarship for football at Howard University.
Coaching Experience. This is Coach Gregory's 7th year coaching in VA. In 2011, his team finished with the Silver at Districts, knocking off the higher tier Matrix team. He led his 2019 White team to a 7th Place finish in the 4th Grade Division AAU Nationals. He won his divisional Summer League championship and was runner up playing up a year, and 3 tournaments that season. He also coached two Matrix 5th Grade teams in Fall. In 2012, he won the divisional AAU District Championships, and repeated winning Summer league and runner up playing his team up. He served as the assistant coach for the Annandale 5th Grade Division 1 girls county team. He finished 2012 with a Silver place Divisional state finish in 2013, and won 3 tournaments in this season. He took over the Annandale County team in 2013where he finished 3rd, and won both the FCYBL regular season Championship and the FCYBL tournament for the 2014 7th grade D1 season. He moved from Matrix to build a D1 team and finished 4th in D1 AAU Districts.
Coach Gregory has trained at Point Guard College for 3 Summers, and he has been a counselor/ coach at the oldest basketball camp in the country, Pocono Invitational, now known as Hoop Group. He is currently working on his USA coach certification. He has also coached U10, U11, and U12 soccer, served as coach for the Potomac Valley Track club, ages 8-12, and coached CYO girls basketball for several different grades.
His training specialty is mid range, 3 point shooting, and technical defensive awareness. He trains players to be hard to guard and harder to blow by without getting ripped. His athletes love him and consistently has girls coming back and leaving top tier programs to come play for him.
